Punjab Kings (PBKS) unleashed a batting spectacle in Match 22 of IPL 2025, posting an imposing 219/6 in their first innings against Chennai Super Kings (CSK) at the Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Cricket Stadium.
In the opening innings, Punjab Kings (PBKS) had a commanding 219/6 against Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in the Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Cricket Stadium, Mullanpur. Priyansh Arya stole the show with an incredible 39-ball century of 103 runs, including a hat-trick of sixes against Matheesha Pathirana, the joint fourth-fastest ton in IPL history. Despite wicket losses at the start of the innings, including Prabhsimran Singh and Shreyas Iyer, PBKS staged a comeback with Arya's attack-minded bat and a 65-run seventh-wicket partnership between Shashank Singh (52* off 36) and Marco Jansen (34* off 19). CSK bowlers, especially Mukesh Choudhary and Pathirana, were unable to stem the tide of runs, with Noor Ahmad claiming Arya's wicket to seal his rampage. The innings set a formidable task, fueled by PBKS's depth and attacking mindset, despite losing five wickets for 83 runs in the eighth over.
