In cricket, legends aren’t just born—they're built over years through moments of brilliance, resilience, and unmatched passion. One such moment unfolded in IPL 2025, when Virat Kohli, at the age of 36, showed the world why he’s still among the game’s elite. In Royal Challengers Bengaluru’s clash against Punjab Kings, Kohli, alongside Devdutt Padikkal, ran an extraordinary four runs—something almost unheard of in the T20 era. It wasn’t just a display of fitness, but a statement of intent from a seasoned warrior still playing with the hunger of a debutant.

In the return fixture against Punjab Kings at Mullanpur Stadium, Royal Challengers Bengaluru were out for revenge after a disappointing show at the Chinnaswamy. PBKS began steadily but crumbled under pressure in the middle overs, allowing RCB to seize control. Bengaluru’s body language on the field spoke volumes about their hunger for victory. With sharp bowling and aggressive fielding, they slowly tightened their grip on the match and didn’t let go.

RCB defeat PBKS by seven wickets

Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) registered a dominant seven-wicket win over Punjab Kings in their IPL 2025 clash. Punjab Kings, after being put in to bat, posted a modest 157/6 in their 20 overs. Openers Priyansh Arya (22) and Prabhsimran Singh (33) gave a quick start, but RCB’s spinners, especially Krunal Pandya (2/25) and Suyash Sharma (2/26), pulled things back effectively. Josh Inglis tried to anchor the innings with a brisk 29, while Shashank Singh remained unbeaten on 31. Punjab lost momentum in the middle overs, and despite Marco Jansen’s quick 25*, they couldn't finish strongly.

In reply, RCB lost Phil Salt early, but Virat Kohli took charge with a sublime unbeaten 73 off 54 balls. Devdutt Padikkal provided the perfect support, smashing 61 off just 35 deliveries. Their partnership of 103 runs put RCB in a commanding position. Though Rajat Patidar departed late in the chase, Jitesh Sharma’s cameo ensured RCB crossed the target with seven wickets in hand and seven balls to spare. With this win, RCB not only gained two crucial points but also continued their strong run in the tournament, while Punjab Kings were left to reassess their approach after another underwhelming performance.
