This is not a kind of question that can deliver a retort; perhaps a long paper, packed with lots of probabilities and numbers, can glimmer.

Ruturaj Gaikwad, regular skipper for CSK, is out from the rest of the tournament due to injury, which forced the management to reconsider Dhoni as the leader yet again.

The former Indian skipper was criticized brutally in the ongoing season for his batting; even some critics put blame on MSD for the team's poor performance. But is it a wise way to think that an individual person ruins the performance of a whole team?

IPL 2025 has so far witnessed multiple high-scoring matches, for example, Punjab Kings vs. Chennai Super Kings, where both teams scored over 200. Now if we take a look at other CSK match results, it is clear that their bowlers did their job to restrict the opponent batters to score a massive total. Apart from the Punjab match, Delhi Capitals put the second highest total, which is 183; nowadays, 183 is considered a chase-able target for any IPL team.

IPL has become a stage for young cricketers; every season, multiple underrated cricketers emerge as sensations. Previously, CSK found huge possibilities in numerous players like Shivam Dubey and Matheesha Pathirana. This season the yellow brigade has not yet produced any 'X' factor.

Chennai Super Kings top 3 batters in terms of scoring runs:

Rachin Ravindra: 149 runs in 6 innings

Shivam Dube: 137 runs in 6 innings

Ruturaj Gaikwad: 122 runs in 5 innings

For comparison, let's accumulate the top three batters of the Gujarat Titans, the number 1 team in the points table, according to individual runs:

Sai Sudharsan: 273 runs in 5 innings

Jos Buttler: 202 runs in 5 innings

Shubman Gill: 148 runs in 5 innings
