During IPL 2024, when Hardik Pandya was made the captain of Mumbai Indians by taking the captaincy from Rohit Sharma, a video of Rohit Sharma went viral. This decision by the MI management later faced heavy criticism, as fans had hoped Rohit would continue leading the team for a few more years.
Now in IPL 2025 also, another video of Rohit Sharma has surfaced in which he is saying that I have done what I had to do. After the release of this video, many speculations are being made. Hardik Pandya was made the captain of the team last season in place of Rohit Sharma and the performance of the team was not good. Hardik Pandya is captaining this season, too. Mumbai Indians have won only one match so far. At the same time, Rohit Sharma is continuously flopping this season. He does not even have 30 runs in three matches.

Rohit Sharma says this and Rishabh Pant comes from behind and catches him. This video was first shared from the Mumbai Indians page but after some time it was deleted. However, by then this video became viral.

A video of Rohit Sharma went viral last year as well where the talismanic batter was talking to Abhishek Nair at that time, and then he was heard saying What about me? this is my last. After this, speculations were made that maybe after losing the captaincy, Rohit Sharma might leave Mumbai Indians, but nothing like that happened. Now even after this video has surfaced, fans are making various speculations whether everything is not right between Rohit Sharma and Mumbai Indians.
The MI vs. LSG clash on Friday is a crucial matchup, as both teams have struggled with consistency, winning just one of their three games. MI, led by Hardik Pandya, have faced challenges with form, especially in their batting lineup. While Ryan Rickelton stood out in their victory against KKR, Rohit Sharma's lack of big scores and the absence of Jasprit Bumrah continue to be key concerns.
