Indian fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah completed the Brisbane Test's first innings with a six-fer, which guided him to a new Test cricket milestone, and that too in overseas country. 

In the crucial Brisbane Test, India bowled out the hosts Australia for 445 runs. Struggling at 75/3, Steven Smith and Travis Head set up a massive 241-run partnership for the fourth wicket. While Head scored 152 runs, Smith scored 101 before getting out. Later, the wicketkeeper-batter Alex Carey’s 70 runs helped the hosts to set a strong first-innings total.

In that first innings of the Brisbane Test, Bumrah dismissed both the openers Usman Khawaja (21) and Nathan McSweeney (9). Later, he dismissed both the centurions, Steven Smith (101) and Travis Head (152), and Mitchell Marsh (5). On the third day morning of the Test, Bumrah completed his six-fer after dismissing Mitchell Starc for 18 runs.

Jasprit Bumrah completed 50 Test wickets in Australia

Indian fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah finished the first innings of the Brisbane Test with the bowling figures of 28-9-76-6. It was his second six-fer and third five-wicket haul in Australia. With his six-fer, Bumrah completed 50 Test wickets in Australia. After the Indian pacer Kapil Dev and Ishant Sharma, Bumrah became the third Indian bowler to complete 50 Test wickets in an overseas country. 

Kapil Dev recorded 51 Test wickets in 11 matches in Australia. He was the first Indian to complete 50 Test wickets in a foreign country. Later, Ishant Sharma recorded 51 Test wickets in 15 matches in England. 

Fastest Indian to complete 50 Test wickets in a foreign country

Moreover, Bumrah recorded the fastest 50 Test wickets by an Indian in an overseas country. While Bumrah took 19 Test innings, Kapil Dev achieved it in 21 Test innings and Ishant completed it in 23 Test innings.
