After Mumbai Indians (MI) lost to Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in an IPL 2024 match, their star bowler Jasprit Bumrah won hearts with a kind act. As he headed towards the dressing room, Bumrah gave his Purple Cap to a young fan in the stands. The kid was thrilled to receive the cap and couldn’t contain his excitement, jumping with joy.

Despite not taking any wickets against Lucknow, Bumrah bowled exceptionally well, giving away only 17 runs in his four overs. He is currently the leading wicket-taker of the season, with 14 wickets in 10 games at an economy rate of 6.40.

Unfortunately for Mumbai, their efforts weren’t enough to defend a target of 145 runs, leading to their seventh loss this season. With just three wins from 10 matches, the five-time champions are struggling in ninth place on the points table.

“It was a fantastic gesture…”

After seeing Bumrah doing this Suresh Raina added, “It was a fantastic gesture from Jasprit Bumrah to talk to the youngster. He has so much experience. When (Mayank) meets him, he will learn so much from Bumrah’s words about looking after an injury. It’s not easy to return from an injury and take wickets.”

After the game, Bumrah was seen chatting with Lucknow’s fast bowler Mayank Yadav, who recently returned to action after an injury layoff. Mayank had to leave the field after bowling only 3.1 overs in his comeback match, raising concerns about his fitness.
