During the second Semi-final of the ICC Champions Trophy 2025, where New Zealand and South Africa are facing each other at Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore, former New Zealand captain Kane Williamson created a new history for his nation with his bat.

In the second Semi-final of the ICC Champions Trophy 2025, New Zealand captain Mitchell Santner chose to bat first as the Blackcaps captain felt the lesser dew impact in the evening due to the breeze in the afternoon.

New Zealand openers Will Young and Rachin Ravindra had a 48-run partnership for the first wicket, before Young was dismissed for 21 runs. Then Rachin Ravindra and Kane Williamson set up a huge partnership for the second wicket that guided the Kiwis to a big total for this Semi-final.
