In the 15th match of the IPL 2025, Kolkata Knight Riders vs SunRisers Hyderabad (KKR vs SRH) has been scheduled for Thursday evening (April 3) at Eden Gardens in Kolkata. It is the battle of the IPL 2024 finalists, where KKR won their third IPL title after winning it by eight wickets with 57 balls remaining. 

IPL 2025: KKR and SRH have poor starts

Both teams will play their fourth match of the season, as the defending champions Kolkata Knight Riders and the latest IPL runners-up SunRisers Hyderabad have recorded one win and two losses each this season.

KKR started the new season with a thrashing seven-wicket home defeat against Royal Challengers Bengaluru before comfortably beating Rajasthan Royals by eight wickets in Guwahati, but surrendered against the hosts Mumbai Indians by eight wickets without any battle. 

Meanwhile, after SRH started the new season with a 44-run win against Rajasthan Royals at home after scoring the second-highest IPL total, 286/6, they suffered two back-to-back big defeats against Lucknow Super Giants and Delhi Capitals by five wickets and seven wickets, respectively. 

IPL 2025, Match 15: KKR vs SRH - Playing XIs status

While KKR batting is struggling heavily, the team management needs to restructure the batting line-up quickly. We may see Manish Pandey more in the batting, while the vice-captain Venkatesh Iyer and Rinku Singh have disappointed with the bat. Andre Russell's batting is silent while he picked up two wickets in the last game against Mumbai Indians. However, KKR can check Rovman Powell to strengthen the batting line-up, while they badly need the South African pacer Anrich Nortje. 

SRH have disappointed with their batting performances in the last two games, and their strategies need to be balanced. Also, bowling is another headache for them, while the Australian leg-spinner Adam Zampa can't be replaced at present.
