Lucknow Super Giants vs Mumbai Indians (LSG vs MI) has been scheduled for the 16th game of the IPL 2025, which Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium (Lucknow) will host on Friday evening (April 4). Both teams are ready for their fourth match of the season after each recording one win and two losses.
After suffering a stunning one-wicket defeat against Delhi Capitals, Lucknow Super Giants defeated SunRisers Hyderabad by five wickets but faced a big eight-wicket defeat against Punjab Kings.
On the other hand, the five-time IPL champions Mumbai Indians started the season with a four-wicket and 36-run defeat against Chennai Super Kings and Gujarat Titans. But, they started their home season with a dominating eight-wicket victory against the defending champions Kolkata Knight Riders.

LSG's batting is a big headache for them. Among the big names, only Mitchell Marsh and Nicholas Pooran have shone, while the most expensive player in the IPL auction history, Rishabh Pant, has disappointed. Ayush Badoni impressed in the last game (41) after two single-digit scores. Except for experienced Shardul Thakur, LSG bowling is yet to impress, while Akash Deep is likely to be available for the match against Mumbai Indians.
Mumbai Indians' top-order batters need to provide stronger starts. While MI bowlers outclassed KKR batters in the last game, Ashwani Kumar stunningly made his IPL debut with a four-wicket haul, including a wicket on his first IPL delivery. The five-time IPL champions still have to prove themselves. After a dominating win against KKR, MI are unlikely to make any immediate change in the playing XI.
Lucknow Super Giants Predicted Playing XI: Aiden Markram, Mitchell Marsh, Nicholas Pooran, Rishabh Pant (Captain), Ayush Badoni, David Miller, Abdul Samad, Shardul Thakur, Ravi Bishnoi, Avesh Khan, Akash Deep
