But Lucknow Super Giants make a stunning comeback win to defeat Punjab Kings by 21 runs at Ekana Cricket Stadium on Saturday.

Shikhar Dhawan (70 off 49) and Jonny Bairstow crafted a brisk 42 off just 29 deliveries. But debutant Mayank Yadav broke the parternship of 102 runs for the first wicket and clinched three crucial wickets to break the backbone of Punjab’s strong start. Prabhsimran Singh as an impact substitute scored 19 runs off a mere 7 balls, embellished with two sixes and a boundary.
Mayank, making an impressive debut, bagged the wicket of wicketkeeper-batsman Jitesh Sharma (7 off 9) in a similar manner to Bairstow’s departure. Shashank Singh (8 off 6) and Livingstone’s spirited effort, accumulating 27 runs off just 16 deliveries laced with two sixes and an equal number of boundaries, PBKS ultimately fell short by 21 runs.

Mayank Yadav’s entry into the bowling attack proved pivotal for Lucknow Super Giants, as he orchestrated Bairstow’s dismissal, which provided a breakthrough for his team. Mohsin Khan run out for two runs – Harshal Patel is turning out to be quite the finisher.
In a strategic move, Nicholas Pooran, the stand-in skipper for Lucknow Super Giants, won the toss and elected to bat first against Punjab Kings. This decision was accompanied by a significant change in leadership, with Pooran assuming captaincy duties in place of KL Rahul.
