Michael Klinger, the ex-Australian cricketer, is set to lead the Gujarat Giants as head coach in the forthcoming Women’s Premier League (WPL) season. Taking over from Rachael Haynes, Klinger aims to revitalize the team’s performance after their lackluster showing in WPL 2023, where they ended at the bottom of the standings with just two victories in eight matches. The franchise is focused on bolstering its squad through new acquisitions during the WPL 2024 auction.

I am excited to collaborate with the cricketing icon Mithali Raj, whose influence in Indian women’s cricket has been profound.
