The Mongolia men’s national cricket team experienced another horrific batting collapse during their second game at the 2024 ICC Men's T20 World Cup Asia Qualifier A. On Saturday (August 31), they recorded the third-lowest completed total in the men’s T20I history.
It was the sixth match of the 2024 ICC Men's T20 World Cup Asia Qualifier A, where Mongolia faced Hong Kong in Kuala Lumpur. After Hong Kong chose to field first, they bundled out Mongolia for only 17 runs, where Mohan Vivekanandan scored the highest runs with five runs.
All 11 Mongolia batters were dismissed in the single digits, including four ducks. The three extras were the second-highest scorer in that horrible innings.
The 17-run all-out was the third-lowest completed total in the men’s T20I history.

It was the fourth time in T20I history that all 11 Mongolian batters scored single-digit scores
Meanwhile, it was the fourth time when all 11 Mongolian batters failed to reach the double-digit scores in a T20I match. Mongolia became the only team in the men’s T20I history to record no double-digit score for more than two T20Is.
Hong Kong bowlers: Ehsan Khan was the star, but Ayush Shukla created a history
All five Hong Kong bowlers picked up at least one wicket in that innings. The 39-year-old off-spinner Ehsan Khan was the best bowler of the match as the Player of the Match finished with the bowling figures of 3-0-5-4.
On the other hand, the 21-year-old right-arm medium pacer Ayush Shukla created a new history with the bowling figures of 4-4-0-1. He became the third bowler in the men’s T20I history to deliver all four maiden overs in a T20I match.
