Mujeeb Ur Rahman missed several matches last year due to a hand injury. He made his comeback in the Abu Dhabi T10, played in Afghanistan’s T20I series against Zimbabwe, and then took part in the SA20 league. However, he wasn’t picked for Afghanistan’s Champions Trophy squad, as the team’s chief selector, Ahmad Suliman Khil, explained that doctors advised him to focus on T20 cricket until he fully recovers before playing ODIs again. After going unsold in the IPL 2025 auction, Mujeeb signed for (INR 2 crore) with Mumbai Indians.
