Mumbai Indians have officially announced Hardik Pandya as the captain for the upcoming season of the Indian Premier League. Pandya takes over the captaincy from Rohit Sharma, who led the team to five IPL titles since being appointed captain midway through the 2013 season.
Prior to his return to Mumbai Indians, Pandya had successfully led the Gujarat Titans to consecutive IPL finals during his two-year tenure with the franchise.
