Namibia has solidified its position in the ICC T20 World Cup 2024 by defeating Tanzania in a resounding victory, securing a berth in the prestigious tournament set to take place in the USA and the West Indies. The team’s remarkable performance against fellow African nation Tanzania resulted in a convincing 58-run win, marking their fifth consecutive triumph.
With a perfect track record, Namibia currently sits at the summit of the points table with 10 points, ensuring a top-two finish necessary for qualification to the upcoming T20 World Cup.The T20 World Cup, featuring a total of 20 teams, has already designated 12 teams, including Namibia, for participation.
As hosts, the West Indies and the USA have automatically qualified, while the top 8 teams, along with Afghanistan and Bangladesh, have also secured their spots. The competition for the remaining positions remains intense, with Uganda, Kenya, Zimbabwe, and Nigeria still vying for qualification.

Namibia’s qualification for the T20 World Cup 2024 marks their third consecutive appearance in the prestigious event, having previously qualified in 2021 and 2022. With the top two teams from each group advancing to the Super Eight phase, the T20 World Cup promises heightened competition. This edition marks the ninth installment of the tournament, with West Indies having claimed the title thrice and England twice.
