The planned visit of Rohit Sharma to Pakistan has been called off as PCB and International Cricket Council (ICC) have confirmed that the pre-event functions such as opening ceremony plus captains' pre-photo shoot have been cancelled at the behalf of both PCB, ICC.This takes away the Indian captain from Pakistan 
In one corner of the world, informed sources said that neither the PCB nor the ICC had officially announced an opening ceremony and the PCB has said nothing more on the subject but has not come out in clear denial. Therefore, the confusion around whether Rohit Sharma is due in Pakistan stands clarified as he would be the first Indian to play one-day cricket there since 2008.
