Pakistan to host three WT20Is against South Africa before T20WC

Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has announced a three-match Women’s T20I series against South Africa Women at home. It will be a crucial series for both teams before the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2024. 

Before the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2024 in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), South Africa Women will tour Pakistan for a three-match Women’s T20I series. Multan Cricket Stadium will host all three matches of the series, the first two in the night and the last in the morning. The matches will be played on September 16, 18, and 20.

South Africa Women lost three WT20Is against the hosts Pakistan Women in September 2023

It will be the second WT20I series between Pakistan Women and South Africa Women in Pakistan. Previously, South Africa Women toured Pakistan for a three-match WT20I series and a three-match WODI series in September 2023. In that series, Pakistan Women won all three WT20Is, as South Africa Women are waiting for their first WT20I victory in Pakistan. 

The South Africa Women’s team will land in Multan on September 13. After completing the series, South Africa will travel to the UAE on September 21 for the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2024. Meanwhile, the Pakistan Women’s team will depart for the UAE on September 23.  

An important series before the ICC Womne's T20 World Cup 2024

The UAE will organise the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2024 from October 3 and 20, 2024, where ten teams will participate. Pakistan Women are in Group A along with Australia Women, India Women, Sri Lanka Women, and New Zealand Women.    

In the meantime, South Africa Women are in Group B along with the official hosts Bangladesh Women, England Women, Scotland Women, and West Indies Women.

Just before the beginning of the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2024, each participating team will play two warm-up games. In the pre-tournament warm-ups, Pakistan Women will face Scotland Women and Bangladesh Women. Meanwhile, South Africa Women will challenge New Zealand Women and India Women.
