Ahead of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 season, Punjab Kings (PBKS) co-owner Preity Zinta has sent a motivational message to the team, asking them to concentrate on their game and aim for their first-ever IPL title.
On X (formerly Twitter), Zinta stressed the need for team cohesion and listening to their coaching staff. She posted:
"My message to @PunjabKingsIPL players this year is - Cut out the noise, work on the game, listen to Ricky, play as a team & have loads of fun on the ground & WIN for all of us this year Ting!"
Striving for a Turnaround in IPL 2024
Punjab Kings, being an original IPL franchise, have had trouble in providing steady success within the tournament. In their twelve-year history starting in 2008, PBKS has been in the playoffs only twice—their best so far being their runners-up appearance in 2014 when they lost to Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in the finals.

Despite their constant squad revamps and regular change of leaders, Punjab Kings have not managed to find the winning recipe. Zinta's recent message, though, suggests a new plan for the next season with a focus on team bonding, strategy clarity, and the coach Ricky Ponting's influence.
