Delhi's rising star Priyansh Arya recently made headlines for his blitz at the Delhi Premier League as he smashed six sixes in an over. Arya, who dons jersey No.18, called star India batter Virat Kohli his favourite player and his idol too. Kohli has always managed to inspire young cricketers, who aspire to contribute to Indian cricket like him. Arya also opened up about his admiration of Kohli's aggressive batting style and desire to play for RCB in the IPL.

"Virat Kohli is my favourite" - Priyansh Arya

"Virat Kohli is my favourite, want to play for RCB. My favourite team is RCB, admire Virat Kohli a lot, I like his aggression. I also like to play aggressive cricket. He is my idol," Priyansh told PTI.

He also wanted to contribute towards helping RCB lift their 1st ever IPL title as well.

However, Arya stole the show with his breathtaking hitting and he is currently the leading run-scorer with 602 runs across nine innings. He became the latest entrant in a rare 6 sixes in an over list while playing for South Delhi Superstarz against North Delhi Strikers. He took on left-arm spinner Manan Bharadwaj in the 12th over with a pool of sixes. He also smashed his 2nd century of the tournament as he piled up 120 runs from 50 balls as well.

Ayush Badoni smashed 165 off 55 balls

"I had this thing in mind that if a left-arm spinner comes on to bowl, I will attack him. After the fourth six, I started to believe that I can hit six sixes and will go for that. Ayush backed me and told me to go for the kill," he revealed.

Meanwhile, the captain of Delhi Superstarz Ayush Badoni did well too as he scored 165 off 55 balls and shared a record-breaking stand of 286 runs with Priyansh Arya. Their stand helped the team put up 308 runs on the board and in reply, North Delhi could only score 196 runs.

"Badoni's quite relaxed and doesn't talk much, just tells us to express ourselves. The team's environment is calm, coaches talk about the positives rather than negatives. The mindset is to win the trophy," he stated.
