Lahore Qalandars (LAH) defeated Karachi Kings (KAR), who were swiftly outclassed, to continue their winning march in the 10th edition of the Pakistan Premier League (PSL 10). Karachi Kings had no match to compete with Shaheen Afridi-led LAH. In all departments, LAH had the upper hand over their opponent. Qalandars won their match against the Kings by a 65-run margin.
Saheen Afridi, skipper of Lahore Qalandars, decided to bat first after winning the toss. LAH opener Fakhar Zaman was in blazing form when he took on KAR bowlers. The Pakistani star batter built a solid foundation for his team with a confident 76-run knock. New Zealand star batter Daryl Mitchell was on song at the National Bank Stadium on PSL Game 6. Mitchell’s 75 was the perfect innings to round off Qalandars’ innings. LAH, in return for 6 wickets, put a total of 201 on the scoreboard. Hasan Ali was the only effective bowler for KAR with 4 scalps.
Karachi Kings did very little to offer LAH a tough challenge as their batting line-up collapsed like a house of cards. The trio from LAH—Saheen Afridi, Asif Afridi, and Rishad Hossain—ran rampant over Kings top and middle-order batting lineup. 39 runs from Khushdil Shah and 27 from Hasan Ali were only a mere glimpse of hope for the Karachi-based franchise.
Shaheen Afridi (Lahore Qalandars captain): "All the players are in good touch and I am feeling good as a captain. We sticks to our strength during our bowling. The way Rishad Hossain had bowled was fantastic, and Fakhar Zaman's knock and his partnership with Daryl Mitchell was brilliant."
David Warner (Karachi Kings captain): "We lost early wickets in the Powerplay, leaked too many runs in the middle overs, which took the momentum from us away. But I love the energy and attitude in this group, and absolutely love the support we are getting."
