After a hiatus of more than two months, Shaheen resumed playing cricket with the Pakistan Super League; Shaheen had to leave the T20 World Cup final in November of last year as Pakistan conceded a defeat to England because his knee injury recurred. In his first appearance in the PSL, the left-arm pacer has taken 10 wickets in four matches, which is quite impressive.

After posting a massive score of 240/3 in 20 overs, Qalandars restricted Zalmi to 201/9 thanks to Shaheen’s brilliant figures of 5/40 in four overs

He then went on to take five wickets in the match. Abdullah Shafique (75) and Sam Billings (47*) also made important contributions with the bat, but Fakhar Zaman (96) scored the most runs for the Qalandars in a ferocious innings with three fours and ten sixes.

After Haris (0) and Babar (7) were dismissed early, the Zalmi’s Saim Ayub (51) and Tom Kohler-Cadmore (55) added 91 runs for the third wicket; However, the team took a number of wickets as a result of Kohler-Cadmore’s departure. In addition to Shaheen, Qalandars took wickets from Zaman Khan (2/28), Haris Rauf (1/38) and Rashid Khan (1/49).

“The overall credit goes to the batters as they were confident about going out and batting first on this green wicket. We have depth and variety in our bowling attack. With the arrival of Billings, the middle order has become stronger. All the teams are going good and we can’t take anyone lightly in this tournament. I tried my best and focused on landing the ball on the hard length area and it worked for me,”

Shaheen said after the match.
