IPL match 8 ended with one side trauma where RCB breached the Chepauk fortress after 17 years, before that RCB defeated Chennai in Chennai in 2008 which was the inaugural year of IPL. It was really a one-sided affair where Csk captain Ruturaj won the toss and elected to field first. RCB proceeded with their opening with Phil Salt and Virat Kohli, it was Salt who was in the mood today he started to attack from ball one.
He started to flourish in the boundaries and gave a good powerplay score but then against the run of play he got out by Ms Dhoni's brilliant stumping. Even Kohli looked rusty today because he couldn't able to find his rhythm too he was accumulating more balls.  Though Padikkal played a good cameo of 27 runs. But couldn't last long as Ashwin topped him and Ruturaj completed the catch.

RCB Chuckles Down In The Middle
After the wicket of Padikkal there came the captain Rajat Patidar moved on the scoreboard he lashed the bowlers with boundaries and sixes. He didn't miss out on anyone but he was lucky too when he was dropped three times by the fielders. A straight hand catch was missed by Deepak Hooda and few were let down by others which gave a strong lifeline to him and he used the opportunity very well.
Patidar went on to score his half-century but in between his partners from the other end were getting out cheaply which created pressure too. Patidar made 51 runs from 31 balls but the last over of Sam Curran gave them the important runs where they were lacking behind the scores, Tim David scored 22 runs in the last over and gave a commanding score of 196 runs. The last overruns just dented the efforts which were contained for a few overs, it looked quite tough for Chennai to chase the target.

RCB won in Chennai after 17 years
Chennai came to chase but it looked that they were nowhere near the chase too where they lost their opener Rahul Tripathi and captain Ruturaj Gaikwad at quick succession of time. From there it was judged that the task would be impossible for CSK to chase the target. Rachin Ravindra carried his good form where he was looking with his delicate touch but opposite side it was far opposite wickets that kept on feeling like a a bunch of cards.

It seemed like players had surrendered themselves before the chase itself. It was no show from the other side where Deepak Hooda, Shivam Dube, Sam Curran, and Ashwin went out cheaply which showed no hope at last Dhoni and Jadeja played few shots but till that time the game was pretty much over, to compensate for the run rate both started lofting the shots, soon Ravindra Jadeja too got out.

It was Ms Dhoni who stood till last scored 30 runs with 2 sixes and 3 fours. Now RCB has won two games which shows that they are ready to prove themselves for this season.
Though Chennai has lots of problems to address where their batting is a serious concern where 2-to 3 players are on remedy rest of the others are becoming liable. If this continues then Chennai will soon be out of the playoff race.
