Legendary Chennai Super Kings (CSK) player MS Dhoni left the pitch early after CSK’s loss to Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) on Saturday, May 18. Following their 27-run defeat to the Bengaluru side, CSK was knocked out of the Indian Premier League. After the match, MS Dhoni chose not to shake hands with the RCB team, shocking the fans at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium.

The former India skipper, who was anticipated to retire after CSK’s final group-stage game, was visibly frustrated with himself following their loss to RCB. He was dismissed on the second ball of the final over, just after hitting a massive 110m six off Yash Dayal. Dhoni, batting at 25 off 12 balls, top-edged a slower delivery from the RCB pacer and was caught at deep square leg.

RCB players didn’t have the decency to shake MS Dhoni’s hand after CSK win: Vaughan

Former England captain Michael Vaughan has criticized the RCB players for not shaking hands with MS Dhoni after their high-stakes IPL 2024 victory against CSK on Saturday night. A video that went viral on social media shows a dejected Dhoni walking off the field without shaking hands with the Royal Challengers players following the Super Kings’ heartbreaking exit from IPL 2024.

“If there was ever a time for a group of players to show awareness, we don’t know, if that was MS Dhoni’s last game and those players have run around the ground doing handstands when all they need to do is wait, ‘the legend’s over there. We have to just go and shake his hand,” Vaughan said  speaking to Cricbuzz post match.
