RCB charm Virat Kohli achieved one more achievement on Saturday on his home ground. Confronting Delhi Capitals, Kohli became the first player to score 7000 runs in IPL history. The former Indian captain is the IPL’s all-time leading run-getter and currently leads the leader board.
Kohli was fast off the blocks and got off the mark with a boundary of Khaleel Ahmed in the first over. He then, at that point, arrived at the achievement with a radiant cut off Axar Patel. The 34-year-old completed his 7000 runs in front of his childhood coach and at his home field. The RCB star also touched his feet prior to the game to ask for his blessing.
Heading into the match against Delhi Capitals, Virat Kohli’s great run count in the Indian Premier League added up to 6988 runs in 233 IPL matches, bragging an average 36.61. In particular, Kohli has displayed exceptional batting skill in IPL 2023, scoring 376 runs in just nine matches.
Kohli leads the IPL’s list of highest run scorers with an impressive tally of 7000* runs at this point. Tailing along is Shikhar Dhawan, who has collected a prominent 6536 runs. Notably, the tournament has seen only four players surpass the 6000-run mark. With an impressive total of five half-centuries and the highest individual score of 82 in the current IPL season (2023), Kohli continues to demonstrate his skill. Kohli had scored 366 runs in nine matches prior to this match.
