While India are fighting in the fourth innings of the Pune Test against New Zealand to save the Test series, the visitors took an important wicket as the wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant lost his wicket through a run-out.
Trailing by 1-0 in the three-match home Test series against New Zealand, India have got a large 359-run target in the fourth innings of the second Test at Pune.
Although the skipper Rohit Sharma (8) once again failed to provide a good start, in-form Indian opener Yashasvi Jaiswal set up another challenging start for the hosts. He scored 77 runs off 65 balls with nine fours and three sixes. Also, Shubman Gill scored 23 runs before losing his wicket.
Rishabh Pant is a huge name in Indian batting line-up
The Indian team and fans had huge expectations from Rishabh Pant, who could change the Test match atmosphere with his powerful batting. Similarly, the Blackcaps were desperate to dismiss him early to grip the Test match.
It was an important time in the Indian innings when Virat Kohli and Rishabh Pant were busy setting a good partnership to stay in the Test match. New Zealand left-arm spinner Mitchell Santner, who already took seven wickets during India’s first innings, completed his 10-wicket haul in the Test match after picking up all the first three wickets in the fourth innings.
Rishabh Pant's call in the run-out
After the former Indian skipper Kohli sent Ajaz Patel’s one delivery to behind the square, the non-striker end batter Pant called for a run. Kohli responded quickly, while Pant had a slight hesitation before starting his full-fledged run. Santner took the ball and sent the ball to the wicketkeeper, and the keeper took the bail off quickly while Pant’s desperate dive wasn’t enough for him to save.

Before blaming Virat, everyone should see that it was Rishabh Pant's callpic.twitter.com/c9n7xbFCQZ

It was the massive fourth wicket fall in the Indian innings, which was very important for the visitors. The visitors have now started to dream of the historic Test series win in India.
Indian fans are heartbroken by this dismissal. Although it was clearly Pant's call, some Indian cricket fans are blaming the former skipper Virat Kohli for that dismissal. Some Kohli fans have also come up with a clear picture reply.
