Rajasthan Royals regular captained Sanju Samson has decided to play as regular batter for first three matches due the small injury which occured in his thumb during the series against England where Jofra Archer ball struck into his left thumb. He underwent on to minor surgery to thumb in last february which anticipated the small recovery gap and after the green signal from physios and doctors he is been allowed to play the IPL. 

Though for the betterment of the surgery and to focus more on batting aspect, Sanju has decided to step down as captain for first three matches. Sanju was also part of ICC T20 world Cup team which was won by team India last year. In absence of Sanju all rounder Riyan Parag has been chosen to lead Rajasthan Royals for the first three matches.

Aspects Of Making Riyan Parag As Captaincy Choice

Its been stated that Sanju Samson will be playing as batter and Riyan Parag has been chosen to lead the team for first three matches. As per sources its been said keeping an eye for the future aspects this decision has been taken, Riyan posses the great caliber to lead the team well, Parag had a great season last year where he scored nearly 490 runs who was the top scorer for the team.

Riyan Parag started his Ipl career for Rajasthan Royals from 2019,where he had been on and off seasons for certain time but his all round abilities were always been appreciated but for him the breakthrough season was 2024 where he was promoted above where his batting performance steeped up he started to finish some of the matches by his own and the amount of consistency which he showed was great prospect. 

Backlash Speculated For Making Parag As Captain

Though Riyan Parag showcased his ability in last season but making him the captain has caused Rajasthan Royals in a big trouble where speculations arrived in all corner of social media that how many times Parag will be saved. Some said nepotism is at peak in RR where deservimg players like Jaiswal are waiting in the list and they have chosen Parag as their captain. Jaiswal should hire a better Pr to explore him otherwise he will be too supressed like Pujara and Shikar Dhawan.

The another aspect to look into it as to promote cricket widely RR managment choose Guhawti as their home ground for two home matches and Parag being a local boy would have better connectivity with that aspect too he might be chosen as captaincy choice now it depends on Parag how he take up this challenge.
