India created history once again with cricket by capturing the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 after defeating New Zealand in a pulsating final at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium. However, the most memorable moment came when Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli were celebrated for their unique style of Dandiya on the field.

Victory that requires celebration 

India eased to victory, thanks to a tremendous opening stand from Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill, which set the pace for their innings as they tore into the New Zealand bowling attack. Later, Virat Kohli partnered with KL Rahul for the big win. This win for India was their third Champions trophy, confirming India’s supremacy in world cricket.

Dandiya takes over the celebration

Immediately, the Indian dressing room went ballistic when the last winning runs were hit. In appreciation of the that victory, Rohit and Kohli grabbed their bats and jumped into a dance that resembled dandiya, to the joy of the fans. Their celebration took the spotlight and epitomized the togetherness and happiness of the team spirit.  

With capturing another ICC Trophy, Indian fans now have more memories to look forward to. And to top it off, the fusion of dandiya and cricket makes it one of a kind.
