Rohit Sharma's tale is one of dreams fulfilled. As a boy, he would stand outside the Wankhede Stadium, hoping to catch a glimpse of his cricketing idols. Today, the same stadium will have a stand in his name, a moment that brings his journey full circle. The Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) has announced that Level 3 of the Divecha Pavilion at Wankhede will be named after Rohit, one of India's greatest cricketers.

For Rohit, this is not only an honour, it's an emotional moment. "We were not permitted to go into Wankhede in my childhood days," he said. "Now, a stand is going to be constructed in my name, it will be a very emotional moment for me. I do not know how I will behave." He recalled how he and his pals would complete their U-14 or U-16 training at Azad Maidan and go over to Wankhede, just to watch the Mumbai Ranji side train. Entering was not easy, but those were the memories that stuck with him.
