Indian captain Rohit Sharma finally broke his poor run of cheap dismissals with a destructive century against England in the Cuttack ODI. It was the match where Rohit continued his impressive consistent runs, which is a dream for Virat Kohli and other present great players.
India were leading the three-match home ODI series against England by 1-0 before the visiting captain Jos Buttler chose to bat first in the second game at Cuttack last Sunday (February 9). While England scored 304 all out in 49.5 overs, India chased down the target in 44.3 overs after losing six wickets and sealed the home series with a 2-0 lead before the last game of the ODI series.

While the chase was challenging, especially due to a low bounce pitch, Indian captain Rohit Sharma became merciless against every England bowler. Rohit had a powerful 136-run partnership for the first wicket, while the right-handed opening batter completed his 50 runs in 30 balls with the help of four fours and four sixes. Later, with five more fours and three more sixes, Rohit completed his 32nd ODI century in 76 balls.

Before Liam Livingstone took Rohit’s wicket, the Indian captain scored 119 off 90 balls with 12 fours and seven sixes. His powerful batting helped the hosts to claim a comfortable win, and Rohit won the Player of the Match award. Since 2013, he has won at least one Player of the Match award in international cricket every calendar year, and it is an impressive record, which is only a dream for every cricketer.
