Gujarat Titans were all set to compete with Rajasthan Royals in the 24th Match of the Indian Premier League at the DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai. GT outran RR by a massive 37 runs with captain Hardik Pandya in the lead.
Captain Pandya steered GT with 87 not out off 52 balls. Manohar backed him up with 28- balls 43 followed by Miller who played a 14-balls 31 cameo to rocket GT 192/4. Although Buttler tried giving Rajasthan Royals a fairly good start, they however kept losing wickets consistently. Ferguson showed brilliancy as he picked 3 wickets while debutant Dayal also picked 3, making a strong comeback after being attacked by Buttler.
Rajasthan came to the game after winning their last match against Lucknow, which proved to be a thrilling game and everyone seemed in form. While Gujarat on the other hand stayed the only undefeated side this season before losing their last game against Sunrisers Hyderabad. Their first loss served as a wake up call of consistency and so they!
Within mere three hours, Hardik Pandya proved why his return was awaited by his teams and why his fitness can be scary for other teams. His batting was a game changer while showing captaincy moves . Despite suffering from injury and limping out of the game, his team members made sure that they kept at par with the excellent performance. Pandya came back after four overs again and dismissed Sanju Samson with a smart bowling. He possibly incurred another sprain as he walked off the field again, but sat on the sides with a big smile while his team performed beautifully.
With the end of 18 overs Hardik Pandya took a crucial wicket of Neesham through a slow delivery, but had to walk off and the trail was followed by Shankar for the last three balls and gave away a mere one run. Rajasthan Royals scored a 147/8 after 17.2 overs.
Yash Dayal bowled the last over with a slower delivery, backed up by a good catch from Vijay Shankar, restricting Rajasthan who had a rather disappointing batting, to 155/9. Gujarat wins yet another match gloriously scoring a grand total of 192/4. It was a marvellous all rounder well played game by Gujarat Titans today, proving that they are quick to come back from losses.
Hardik Pandya got titled Player of the Match and rightly so as he keeps his promise of ensuring Gujarat’s win over and over again. Fans can’t help but adore this Indian cricketer. Hoping he gets well soon from his injuries as the audience waits for the next match for Gujarat.
