India Legends captain Sachin Tendulkar reserved special praise for Naman Ojha and Irfan Pathan for their stellar performance in the semi-final win over Australia Legends in Raipur on Thursday. Both Ojha and Irfan starred with the bat as the India Legends reached the finals of Road Safety World Series 2022 with a five-wicket win over Australia Legends.
Chasing a target of 172 runs in 120 balls, India Legends were off to a cautious start as Naman Ojha opened the innings with Sachin Tendulkar. The duo shared a stand of 38 runs for the first wicket. Ojha remained not for 90 off 62 balls (5 sixes). While Irfan smashed an unbeaten 37 off 12 balls (4 sixes) of 50 off just 22 balls to guide a win.

Cameron White and Brad Haddin resumed the Australia Legends’ innings and straightaway got into the act. The pair remained unbeaten, putting up a partnership of 40 runs in 18 balls as they led Australia Legends to a score of 171/5. The fans were eagerly waiting for a match-up between Tendulkar and Brett Lee. But the Master Blaster’s innings came to a premature end in the PowerPlay. Tendulkar attempted a paddle scoop off Nathan Reardon, leaving his leg-stumps exposed. Missed the ball completely to get clean bowled for 10 off 11 balls.
“Super effort by Team India. Bowlers did a fantastic job in tough conditions yesterday. Special mention to @namanojha35 & @IrfanPathan for their knocks today. Keep going strong!” Sachin tweeted.
