The match was going well for Rajasthan Royals (RR) against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) until the last over of the first innings came. Over-boundaries flew all over the Sawai Mansingh Stadium when Abdul Samad met with Sandeep Sharma. The right-handed batter from J&K smashed 26 runs alone in the 20th over and a single from David Miller, a total of 27 runs from a single over.

RR bowlers were controlling the match in a disciplined manner against LSG, despite Aiden Markram's 60 and a 50 from Ayush Badoni. Wanindu Hasaranga and Tushar Deshpande appeared as two major hurdles for LSG batters while they needed to rotate their strike with more pace.
