In the 24th match of IPL 2024 against Rajasthan Royals, Shubman Gill crosses the 3000-run mark in the IPL. He becomes the youngest batter to achieve this milestone, also being the 16th Indian batter and overall 24th batter to score 3000 or more runs in the IPL.

During Gujarat Titans’ clash against Rajasthan Royals, Gill achieved a significant milestone by surpassing the 3000-run mark in the IPL. This feat made him the 16th Indian batter and the 24th overall to reach this milestone in the history of the tournament. Despite the initial challenges, Gill’s determination and perseverance propelled him to success, solidifying his position as one of the premier batters in the IPL.

Youngest to achieve 3000 runs in IPL

Shubman Gill, who debuted with Kolkata Knight Riders in 2018 before joining Gujarat Titans in 2022, has amassed 3000* runs in 94 innings across 97 IPL matches. Now he equals David Warner’s record in 94 innings.

Chris Gayle holds the record for the fastest player to score 3000 runs in the IPL, achieving the feat in just 75 innings. The next fastest was KL Rahul, who reached 3000 runs in 80 innings, securing second place on the elite list of fastest run scorers in IPL history.

Fourth joint fastest to score 3000 runs in IPL

The IPL 2024 season saw Shubman Gill face a series of ups and downs with the bat. Initially struggling to find his rhythm, Gill faced criticism for his inconsistent performances in the T20 and test formats. However, he silenced his critics with a sensational innings against Punjab Kings, scoring 89 runs off just 48 balls and showcasing his ability to lead from the front.

The Indian young gun was one of three players signed by the Titans before the IPL 2022 mega auction. Overall, he has amassed 1,556 runs in 38 IPL matches for Gujarat, cementing his status as the franchise’s top scorer so far.

In five games so far this season, Gill has amassed 183 runs. After Sai Sudharsan (191 runs), he is the team’s second-leading run scorer for Gujarat side this season.
