Sophie Devine to Miss WPL 2025 Season Due to Focus on Health
Sophie Devine is a cricket player for the Royal Challengers Bengaluru team, and she's from New Zealand. Devine is very good at playing all parts of the game. But she told everyone on Saturday, January 25, that she can't play in the Women's Premier League's third season because she wants to make sure she stays healthy. Some sharp and informed people who give health advice told her that it's very needed to look after herself well today.
Sophie decided she needed a break to feel better and take care of herself, so she was going back home. Last year, Devine did very wonderful things to help her team, RCB, win their first-ever important WPL trophy. Even though she won't play in 2025, her team enjoys her very much and wants her to stay for more games in the future. In the 2024 games, Devine scored 136 points and helped become one of six players in ten games, which was very important for her team to win.
The important people who run cricket in New Zealand think Sophie making this choice is good. Liz Green, who helps girls become very good at playing cricket, clapped for Sophie, wanting to look after her health, because being happy and healthy is as important as playing well. She's essentially like a special hero who's amazing but also a little tired and needs to rest.
