In the 25th match of the Indian Premier League, Sunrisers Hyderabad went against Kolkata Knight Riders at the Brabourne Stadium, Mumbai and won by 7 wickets, bringing their victory count to three while Kolkata incurs another problematic loss, yet again.

Knight Riders reached a total of 175/8 while being put to bat as Rana held the best score for the team with 54 off 36 balls while Andre Russell hit an unbeaten 49 off 25 balls. SRH reached the target in just 17.5 overs as Rahul Tripathi showed us some brilliant half centuries (71 off 37) and Aiden Markram (68 not out off 36).

Russel played the last as he pinpointed the last over and fetched Hyderabad a boundary. Aiden Markram also showed a good play and hit a maximum and Varun just seemed out of luck today.

Kolkata Knight Riders have now lost  two consecutive games. The lack of extra bowling affected them today as Varun didn’t have anyone to back him up when Markram and Tripathi attacked him. Sunrisers Hyderabad, meanwhile, puts their critics to rest as they win their 3 rd match of the season yet.

Marco Jansen dismissed Aaron Finch (7) before Natarajan struck twice in the same over to attack Iyer’s (6)  and Sunil Narine’s (6) wickets, leaving Kolkata hanging at 31/3. Malik took the cue and attacked further by dismissing Shreyas Iyer and Sheldon Jackson as Kolkata fidgeted with 103/5.

Rahul Tripathi earned a special mention as he came in at the time of pressure and played one of his best IPL, holding the steering wheel driving SRH to their win. Aiden Markam also slammed some great shots for four over deep mid-wicket and massive six in the same region. SRH has really made a strong comeback after their initial two losses. Markam proceeds to finish the game with a glorious six. SRH showed us a good effort in the game today.

SRH won easily and effortlessly, to say the least while Kolkata Knight Riders have some serious questions to answer. Hoping for the best, the teams, all too uncertain, never let us know for sure about their next big move- but that’s the best part about competitions!
