In a thrilling encounter at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad, Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) showcased a scintillating performance, thrashing Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) by 10 wickets in their 2024 Indian Premier League (IPL) clash.
Travis Head and Abhishek Sharma set the stage for SRH’s emphatic victory, delivering a masterful batting display in pursuit of LSG’s target of 166 runs. Abhishek Sharma and Travis Head paired up to form an unbeatable partnership that wreaked havoc on the Lucknow Super Giants’ bowling attack.

Travis Head’s explosive 30-ball 89 and Abhishek Sharma’s blistering 28-ball 75 propelled SRH to victory in 9.4 overs, leaving LSG struggling to contain their onslaught.
LSG, batting first, posted a competitive total of 165/4, courtesy of impressive innings from Ayush Badoni and Nicholas Pooran. Badoni’s quickfire half-century and Pooran’s aggressive batting formed the backbone of LSG’s innings, enabling them to recover from early setbacks and set a challenging target for SRH.
The 52-ball 99-run partnership for the fifth wickets between Badoni and Pooran–highest for LSG for the fifth wickets– helped them to recover from 66 for 4 to 165 for 4 at the end of 20 overs. Badoni remained unbeaten on 55 as Pooran struck 26 balls 48.
Travis Head and Abhishek Sharma emerged as the heroes for SRH, showcasing their batting prowess and easily dismantling LSG’s bowling attack. Their explosive partnership gave SRH a commanding platform for victory, leaving LSG’s bowlers hapless and demoralized.
On the other hand, Ayush Badoni and Nicholas Pooran played crucial roles for LSG, forming a formidable partnership of 99 runs for the fifth wicket. Badoni’s calculated innings and Pooran’s aggressive strokeplay propelled LSG to a competitive total despite early setbacks.
The win moved SRH up to the third place in the standings with 14 points. LSG, on the other hand, lost ground in its playoffs chase, sitting on 6th place with 12 points from 12 games.
