South African players Keshav Maharaj, Heinrich Klaasen, David Miller and Kagiso Rabads applauded India skipper Rohit Sharma ahead of the T20 World Cup 2024 Final on June 29, Saturday. Notably, Rohit Sharma has been leading the team from the front with the bat as they reached the final of the tournament, without losing a single game so far as well.

Rohit Sharma has scored 248 runs in 7 matches, with 2 fifties against Australia and England in his last two games as well. In a video released by Star Sports recently, Maharaj said he has always been a huge fan of Rohit Sharma and also shared that he is a fearless batter. When it comes to captaincy, the veteran spinner feels Rohit can bring everyone together and get the best out of the players as well.

“I have always been a huge fan of Rohit Sharma. From a batting perspective, he is fearless. From a leadership perspective, you can see he read the game very well. He finds a way to throw everyone in together and making everyone feel comfortable. But I also feel, his tactfulness on the field to approach each characters and bring out the best in them is something that stands out for me,” said Maharaj.

“I think he has got an unbelievable cricket brain” – Klaasen on Rohit Sharma

Meanwhile, Klaasen also praised Rohit’s cricketing brain and called him a gutsy captain as well. The South African batter also said that Rohit can play with your ego a lot and he wants to have a conversation with te Indian skipper in the future to pick his brain as well.

He said, “I think he has got an unbelievable cricket brain. Very gutsy. He makes a lot of brave calls as a captain. He does play on your ego a lot. I’d like to have a conversation about how he thinks. He is a special cricketer. When he is in form, there’s not a lot of bowlers who can bowl at him. Hopefully he won’t be in form against us (in the final.).”

Meanwhile, Miller and Rabada also praised Rohit Sharma with the latter saying that the Indian captain is very chilled.
