Gurbaz was aggressive since the beginning, smashing 4 boundaries and as many sixes as well on his way to 76. In the 10th over, they crossed the 100-run mark and soon an eventful 25-run over from Bilal Shah helped them to reach 150, after reaching the 154-run mark, they lost their first wicket, courtesy of Brian Masaba who removed Zadran and soon Alpesh Ramjani dismissed Gurbaz for 76 runs.

However, their middle orders failed to do well as Afghanistan could only manage 27 runs in the last five overs. Cosmas Kyewuta and Brian Masaba brought back Uganda in the match and the duo claimed two wickets each as well and restricted Afghanistan to a modest total of 183/5 in their allotted overs.

While chasing, Uganda had the worst possible start. They lost their openers – Ronak Patel and Simon Ssesazi for 4 runs each. Soon, Roger Mukasa got out for a duck. However, Riazat Ali Shah tried his best with a 34-ball 11 alongside Robinson Obuya who scored a 25-ball 14.

Apart from them, no batter could reach the double figure, courtesy of a stunning spell from Fazalhaq Farooqi who picked up a fifer.
