The World Cup 2024 saw two associate nations take on each other. On Monday it was Namibia (NAM), who took on Oman (OMA) in Match 3 of the T20 World Cup 2024 at the Kensington Oval in Barbados on June 3. The match which was once looking like a one way traffic eventually ended in a edge of a seat thriller with Namibia being decided as the winner in a relatively one sided super over. After winning the toss and choosing to bowl first, Namibia’s Ruben Trumplemann decimated Oman’s top order, claiming the wickets of their top three batters within the powerplay. Zeeshan Maqsood, Khalid Kail, and Ayaan Khan managed to score 22, 34, and 15 runs respectively, but Oman struggled to post a competitive total, ultimately being bowled out for 109 runs. Trumplemann ended the game with a bowling figure of 4/21 while Wiese recorded a bowling spell of 3/28.

Consequently, Namibia secured a comprehensive win in their first game.
