Contrary to media reports and social media speculation, Shubman Gill did not face any disciplinary issues. According to a source familiar with developments in the USA, the opening batter and fast bowler Avesh Khan are expected to return to India after the group stage of the T20 World Cup. However, this decision is not linked to any disciplinary concerns, as clarified to India Today.

Social media buzzed with speculation suggesting dissatisfaction from the team management regarding Shubman Gill’s behavior during the New York leg of the T20 World Cup. Gill, one of the four reserves for Team India accompanying the 15-member squad for the significant tournament, was at the center of attention. However, the source has debunked reports of the team management’s discontent with Gill. Additionally, rumors circulating on social media about Gill unfollowing Rohit Sharma on Instagram and strained relations with the India captain were also addressed.

Meanwhile, Rinku Singh and Khaleel Ahmed are expected to remain with the 15-man squad as they proceed to the Caribbean for the Super 8s phase of the T20 World Cup.
