Former India spinner Harbhajan Singh has lashed out at Michael Vaughan for his constant remarks about pitch bias towards India. However, India thrashed England in a one-sided match by 68 runs at the Providence Stadium in Guyana on June 27, Thursday as well. The Indian Team stormed into the final of the T20 World Cup 2024 by beating the defending champions.
Meanwhile, Michael Vaughan took to ‘X’ to yet again talk about the venue bias for Team India after they beat England. He said that the Guyana pitch was the most suitable for the Indian team. And, Harbhajan Singh took a jibe with a befitting reply by retweeting his post and asked him to talk logic and not nonsense. In the post, he asked Vaughan to accept that England were outplayed by India and move on as well.
“Surely this Semi should have been the Guyana one… but because the whole event is geared towards India it’s so unfair on others.” Vaughan said after Afghanistan suffered a 9-wicket loss against South Africa in Trinidad.
He continued to take indirect digs at Team India and tweeted, “India throughly deserve to be in the final… The best team in tournament so far… Was always going to hard for England on this pitch… India just so much better on lower slower spinning pitches ..
Notably, the Providence Stadium is known to be a slow track whereas despite winning the toss, England captain Jos Buttler opted to bowl first. And, Indian captain Rohit Sharma had mentioned at the toss that they wanted to bat first only as well. Despite the multiple rain delays, they managed a decent total and spinners got help from the pitch as well. The Indian spinners Axar Patel and Kuldeep Yadav then sealed the deal and helped India win the match as well.
