The WPL 2025 saw one of its most thrilling conclusions as RCBW and UPW staged a nail-biting tie, necessitating a Super Over to declare the winner. With RCBW requiring 9 runs from the last over, the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium was tense. As the match reached the wire, RCBW required 8 runs from the last 3 balls, keeping spectators on tenterhooks.
RCBW's Dominant Batting Performance
Batting first, RCBW posted a good total of 180/6 in 20 overs, courtesy of a magnificent knock by Ellyse Perry, who remained not out on 90 off 56 balls. Her innings, filled with big shots, were the foundation of RCBW's score. Wyatt-Hodge also played an important role, scoring 57 off 41 balls, to maintain momentum in the middle overs.
UPW's bowlers ensured the latter end of the match remained tight as Tahlia McGrath and Deepti Sharma struck when the situation needed a breakthrough. Sophie Ecclestone was strong behind the stumps with two run-outs, completely changing the fortunes.

UPW's Chase & the Last-Over Drama
Pursuing 181, UPW experienced a tottering start but staged a recovery via Sophie Ecclestone (33 off 19) and Deepti Sharma (25 off 13). With the fall of wickets at a constant rate, the game seemed in favor of RCBW. But some fireworks from UPW's lower order towards the latter part of the game propelled the match to the last over.
With only 9 runs required off the remaining 6 balls, the match was level. RCBW's bowlers tightened the equation further such that UPW had to score 8 runs off the final 3 balls. With the match in the balance, pressure intensified, and RCBW's fielding ensured the excitement continued until the last ball, ending with a Super Over decider.

The Super Over:
Sophie Ecclestone's heroics secured a nail-biting Super Over victory for UP Warriorz over RCB in WPL 2025. Having taken the game to a Super Over with her late fireworks, she defended nine runs, giving away only four. Kim Garth had previously kept UPW to eight, sending Henry back and keeping them under wraps. RCB required nine to win but was found wanting against Ecclestone's brilliance. Mandhana and Ghosh were periods that couldn't be set boundaries, and UPW won. Ellyse Perry's 90 unbeaten had powered RCB to 180, but Ecclestone's all-around performance led to a turnaround, handing UP Warriorz their second win in succession and RCB back-to-back defeats.
