In an exciting opening to the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 season, Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) pulled off a comprehensive seven-wicket victory against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium. RCB chased down KKR's modest score of 125/3 in a mere 12 overs.
The match was about RCB's powerful batting as they finished at 174/8 in their 20 overs.Ex-RCB owner Vijay Mallya took to X to express his joy and congratulated the team for their convincing win against KKR. “Congratulations to RCB for their emphatic win over KKR. So glad to hear the commentators saying that RCB bowled well. The bowling line up speaks for itself." Mallya's comments echo the sentiment of many RCB fans as their bowling unit took the task of limiting KKR's scoring seriously; a plan many fans expressed disgust towards in years past.
Congratulations to RCB for the emphatic win over KKR. Glad to hear the commentators finally say that RCB bowled well. The batting line up speaks for itself.

The RCB bowlers set the tone from the start by sending KKR in early and completing disciplined spells restricting KKR to 125/3 in 12 overs. The batting took over the task from that point taking over and winning the game with 8 overs to spare. This victory marks a promising start for RCB, a team that has consistently reached the playoffs in recent years but is yet to lift the IPL trophy.
Supporters are optimistic this win represents a turning point for RCB going forward in IPL 2025. RCB has a good squad and the players are brimming with confidence and belief and now want to carry on this momentum and eventually capture the trophy that has eluded RCB in its history. [14:43,
