Kohli’s unbeaten century against Pakistan in the previous match had moved him to No. 5 in the ICC ODI rankings and made him only the third player to score over 14,000 runs in ODI cricket. He has already gone past Ricky Ponting on the record runs and is now just 138 runs behind Kumar Sangakkara, who is in second place in ODI top run-getters. However, Sachin Tendulkar still leads the list, with a gap of 4,330 runs.
In 300 ODI match, Kohli has scored 14,096 runs at an impressive average of 58.01 and a strike rate of 93.40. He has hit 51 centuries and 73 fifties, with his highest score being 183.
