Virat Kohli once again showed his class in the match against Australia in the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 Semifinals, leading India to win over Australia in the Champions Trophy 2025 semi-final in Dubai. Chasing master showed his class under pressure to beat Australia. And he proved it again by rotating the strike, picking singles, and turning them into doubles, making the chase easy.

Kohli has always been a master at chasing, and his record in Champions Trophy semi-finals says for itself 58 off 64 balls against Sri Lanka in 2013, 96 off 78 balls against Bangladesh in 2017, and 84 off 98 balls against Australia in 2025.

He also reached another big milestone, becoming only the second player after Sachin Tendulkar to score 8,000 runs in ODI chases. On top of that, he overtook Shikhar Dhawan as India's highest run-scorer in Champions Trophy history. His incredible performance even had the commentators praising him. "The bigger the stage, the bigger Virat Kohli becomes," said Ramiz Raja.

"I felt good with my timing and stayed calm at the crease I didn’t feel rushed," Kohli said. "What made me happiest was how well I rotated the strike. Cricket is all about handling pressure. If you stay out there long enough, the opposition usually makes mistakes. The key is to stay patient and not get carried away."

After the match, Virat Kohli was seen celebrating with captain Rohit Sharma and Hardik Pandya. Talking about his innings he said that, "It's all about understanding the conditions and keeping the strike rotating because partnerships are important on this pitch. I just play according to the conditions and build my innings from there."
