Virat Kohli posted a couple of pictures of a ‘cool cat’ who visited him during practice. In the second Test, Kohli leads India against New Zealand in Mumbai after a grueling schedule.

In a Tweet posted early on Tuesday, Kohli tweeted, “A quick hello from a cool cat at practice.” India won its T20I series against New Zealand 3-0 after Kohli was rested. He has been practicing at the Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai.
In addition, he will also skip the first Test against New Zealand slated to begin Thursday in Kanpur. While Kohli is away, India will be led by Ajinkya Rahane and Cheteshwar Pujara will serve as his deputy.

BCCI has given Kohli and a number of all-formats stars a break as part of its workload management policy following complaints of ‘bubble fatigue’ among several senior members. India’s disappointing performance at the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2021 in UAE, where the former champions finished last in their group, was attributed to this factor. The India head coach recently highlighted the importance of managing players’ workloads, saying the players’ mental and physical health is a top priority.

”The fact that we play so much cricket makes workload management an essential part of this sport. Likewise, big players don’t appear in every match in long seasons in football. Whenever we play all year long, we have to manage their workloads, whether that’s within the team or by giving them a break. The mental and physical well-being of players will be a major focus,” Dravid had said during last week’s media interaction. ”At a time like this, we must strike a balance and work towards getting everyone ready for the big tournaments”, he concluded.
