Former Indian captain Virat Kohli is getting ready for his Ranji Trophy comeback, and he is taking the process seriously. He is practicing under the former Indian coach before returning to Delhi.

Delhi are set to host Railways in the last round of the group stage in the Ranji Trophy 2024-25, as the Elite Group D match will begin on January 30.

Former Indian captain Virat Kohli is set to make his Ranji Trophy return after 12 years. He missed out on the previous fixture due to a neck sprain. While the right-handed batter is struggling in the red-ball format of international cricket, he is desperate to find his form back soon.

Virat Kohli practicing under his former coach Sanjay Bangar

Former Indian cricketer Sanjay Bangar, popular as a batting coach, was the batting coach of the national team between 2014 and 2019. Many Indian batters, including Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli, have credited the batting coach for their strong performances in their international careers.

Later, we experienced the Kohli-Bangar partnership in the Indian Premier League (IPL). For Kohli’s IPL team Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), Bangar was the batting consultant for IPL 2021 and head coach for IPL 2022 and 2023.

According to Times of India reports, Kohli often trains under Bangar whenever he is in Mumbai.

Meanwhile, a video has also revealed that Kohli is practicing on a portable cement slab while Bangar was giving him throwdowns from the middle of the pitch. The right-handed batter is working on his backfoot.

Under Bangar's coaching, Kohli scored 600+ runs in Australia and 500+ runs in England

During Bangar’s coaching tenure for India, Kohli had some memorable foreign tours in the red-ball formats, like scoring 692 runs in Australia in 2014-15 and 593 runs in England in 2018.
