Virat Kohli Set to Come Back from a Debut in 11 Years, To Play for Delhi Team with training news rack is full of good news for the cricketer, Virat Kohli will now finally play the Ranji Trophy in over a decade. Kohli will be with the Delhi squad for practice on Tuesday, the 30th of January, for their final league match of the season against Railways. It would be his first domestic first-class appearance since 2012
Darshan Singh, Coach of Delhi confirmed Kohli's involvement, saying that the brilliant batsman had committed his wicket to last week for this crucial game that will be played between 30th January to 2nd February. It is good to see Kohli back in the Delhi squad that is 9weeks away from their 30th Ranji Trophy match of this season.
Kohli had been ruled out of Delhi's final game with a neck injury but seems pretty much back to full fitness. His participation in this criital game is as per the recent BCCI (Board of Control for Cricket in India) guidelines wherein contracted players will be presumed to play domestic cricket. This was released after India lost 3-1 to Australia in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, in a bid to inspire senior players to get some game time and feel the runs in domestic matches.
During the practice session of today, Kohli was seen playing football with his Delhi team mates at Arun Jaitley Stadium enjoying football and enthusiasm for the team. Cricket is known to be the second sport for the cricketers(whirlwind), and Kohli's energy on the field was visible as well he looked as though he wanted to lead from the front.
