Indian national cricket team is currently under pressure. While we have already heard some injury scare news just after landing in Australia, another horrible news has just emerged for the Indian cricket fans which will put the Indian cricket fans in a tense situation.

Former Indian captain Virat Kohli has reportedly undergone scans. The Sydney Morning Herald claimed that Kohli had a scan on Thursday (November 14). However, the report didn’t mention the nature of the injury.

Meanwhile, Kohli was present in the internal practice match on Friday (November 15), which is good news for Indian cricket.

The five-match Test series between Australia and India, the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024/25, will begin on November 22 in Perth. This series is very important for both teams in the 2023-2025 ICC World Test Championship points table.

Injury reports disturbing the Indian team

Captain Rohit Sharma is likely unavailable for the Test series opener. So, his important opening batter’s place will have to be fulfilled. Meanwhile, recent media reports claimed that after landing in Australia, Sarfaraz Khan was injured during a practice session and KL Rahul was injured during a practice game.

Virat Kohli is an important name in Indian cricket. The right-handed batter has to play a crucial role in the forthcoming Border-Gavaskar Trophy. Although Kohli was in good form this year, his recent outings in tough Indian Test pitches disappointed Indian cricket fans. After scoring 99 runs in four innings against Bangladesh, Kohli scored only 93 runs in six innings against New Zealand, including one duck and three more single-digit scores.

Virat Kohli is the India's second-most Test run-scorer in Australia

Kohli has great records in Test cricket in Australia. The right-handed batter has scored 1352 runs in 25 Test innings (13 matches) with an average of 54.08, including six centuries and four half-centuries, with his best score of 169 runs. He is the second most Test run-scorer by an Indian cricketer in Australia.

When India toured Australia in the 2011/12 and 2014/15 seasons, Kohli was the leading run-scorer for India. After scoring 300 runs in the 2011/12 season, Kohli scored 692 runs in the 2014/15 season where he finished as the second leading run-scorer of the series with four centuries.

Kohli played only one match in the last Australia Test tour in the 2020-21 season (scored 78 runs in two innings), while he scored 282 runs as a captain in the 2018/19 season when India won their first-ever Test series in Australia.
