Following the Lucknow Supergiants (LSG) and RCB match on monday night, Virat kohli and Gautam Gambhir engaged in a verbal spat which still has both teams in its custody. From the Internet media to both the teams, it is still being discussed.
Whereas Afghanistan bowler Naveen-ul-Haq has been fined 50 percent. According to sources, Virat presented his explanation by messaging some office bearers of the BCCI and said that’s not what he said and his one day match fee got cut because of which he will have incurred a loss of about 1.25 crores. On the other hand Gambhir does not charge any fees from Lucknow Super Giants. In such a situation, BCCI as a franchise can cut a large sum of money from LSG.
What happened that day: After the match everybody wanted to know what had actually happened.
Accounting for numerous people from the LSG team hotel, they have reported sources that they were pretty surprised with this incident.
Recording the incident, they said-
‘When we went to Bangalore, our mentor Gambhir, assistant coach Vijay Dahiya and Virat were talking together for about 45 minutes. Many good things happened but it was not known that it would happen here.’
Talking about Lucknow, a member present at the ground at the time of the incident said that the day started with the dismissal of Kyle Mayers. When Meyers was dismissed, abuses were said from Virat’s side. When Naveen-ul-Haq was batting, he was shown grass in his shoes. He was told ‘(#%@$!) you don’t know who I am. Then (#%@$!) told Siraj, hit the ball on his head.’ Siraj then deliberately hit the ball on the stumps. However, on behalf of Virat, the BCCI official was told that I did not ask to hit the ball on the head but to throw a bouncer. The source said that Amit Mishra had also complained to the umpire. You ask Naveen, ask Amit, Kohli-Gambhir had an argument after the match was over.
Anil Chaudhary is the umpire of Delhi, you ask the other umpire…. the truth will be known.
After the match was over, the member present in the ground said that Virat shook hands with Naveen and Naveen shook his hand. Maxwell had to intervene. After this, Meyers, the Caribbean opener from Lucknow, went to talk to Virat. Meyers asked Virat why he was abusing him when he got out? After this Gambhir’s entry occurred.
Gambhir took Meyers to the side and said let’s leave the matter here. When Virat and Gambhir started going in opposite directions to each other,
“Bloody fu… I want to give him a send off.”
Kohli said,
Following this Gauti came back, ‘what did you say….’, Virat replied, “I did not say anything to you, why are you entering? To this, Gautam said that ‘if you have spoken to my player, it means you have abused my family, Virat replied to this with, ‘then take care of your family’. Gambhir followed it up by saying ‘now you will teach me’.
After this incident when others joined in, Virat complained to the LSG team management about Naveen’s aggressive attitude after taking his wicket. He told many people including BCCI office bearers that it was not his fault. On the other hand, Gautam says that if someone abuses my players, no matter which country my player is from, I will support him.
On the other hand, a source in LSG said that as far as Naveen is concerned, he does not speak even in the dressing room. He has to be asked to speak. Now the captain of some other team will teach us how to celebrate our player after taking a wicket. If there is anything wrong with that, the match referee will see.
